Flipchat (Feliao in Chinese) is the instant messaging app developed at Bytedance (the makers of TikTok) to compete with rivalling giants: Whatsapp and Wechat. However, this app offers much more than the possibility to exchange messages in real time.

One of Flipchat's goals is to connect users with the same tastes and interests, in a very similar way to traditional message boards. From within the same app, you'll find both traditional instant messaging, video chats and the ability to create your own communities. Plus if you find a community you like, you can join in and start contributing just like on Reddit.

As in almost any social network, in Flipchat you can customize your user profile as you please, adding your photos and all the information you deem convenient. In order to join this social network, however, you will need to use a valid telephone number.
